Wandsworth Council Housing Survey

Hello Residents,

An update from me on a few items. Including the start of a significant change to our engagement with our residents, one I hope that you and your residents will become involved in. We are committed to ensuring there are a wide range of opportunities for engagement and involvement. As such we are planning on updating our Engagement Strategy which governs and directs how we engage with residents across the Housing department.

Improving Housing Together
We have updated our website with details of the Housing Improvement and Transformation Plan<https://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/housing/about-the-housing-department/improving-housing-service/> which is driving this change.

Complete our survey
We are starting the process to review our Resident Participation and Consultation Strategy<https://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/housing/council-tenants-and-leaseholders/resident-involvement-housing/>. We want to ensure all our tenants can get involved at a level that suits them. This includes council tenants, leaseholders, and other residents of our estates. To get involved with these changes and to share your views, please complete our survey by 25 October 2026. If you have RA Noticeboards, could you please share the attached poster, and let your residents know. Any resident of the estate, or absentee leaseholder may take part. We will be putting posters up across estates, reaching out to groups such as RAs and other community groups and contacting as many residents as possible directly. Next Steps
Following on from the survey focus groups will take place to consider various aspects of the new strategy using the survey results. You can express an interest in joining the focus groups when competing the survey. This is where residents can help design the structures and propose their own changes, or challenge suggestions from the Council. We then hope to share a draft in early 2027, and consult on it including at the Residents' Conference.

Residents' Conference
We are moving the Residents' Conference to Spring 2027 to allow the conference to consider the new strategy and next steps.

What is in the Strategy?
The new strategy will look to cover changes to the formal structure, in particular how residents can access it. As well as options around reviewing the RA recognition process, HCC scheme, funding schemes such as SIBs and the opportunities and challenges of digital engagement. This is why we want as many residents' views as possible to shape these ideas. This includes proposing a dedicated forum for tenants and another for leaseholders. Wandsworth in Bloom
I was delighted to join the other judges, the Mayor and the finalists at the awards ceremony for Wandsworth in Bloom last week. Several residents and gardens from Wandsworth Housing estates won, including the coveted Best in Show. Goulden House Co-operative Ltd has published an updated Complaints Policy, providing residents with a clear and straightforward process for raising concerns about the services they receive. The policy sets out what constitutes a complaint, how complaints can be made, the timescales for responding and the two-stage process involving Goulden House and, where necessary, Wandsworth Council. It also explains residents’ right to escalate unresolved complaints to the Housing Ombudsman and reinforces our commitment to learning from complaints and using feedback to improve services.

Thames Water Case Number is 01896095 – Interruption of Water Supply on Shuttleworth Road on Monday 14th September between the timings of 1 pm and 5 pm, for emergency repairs to be undertaken.

This notice is to advise that the emergency works have been completed and your water supply has been switched back on.

This notice is to advise that your water supply will be interrupted on Monday 14th September between the timings of 1 pm and 5 pm, for emergency repairs to be undertaken. The reason for this is that emergency works are required within one of the flats to repair a pipe, these works cannot be undertaken without the water switch-off. The works will be undertaken as quickly as possible and we will advise you as soon as the water is switched back on, via notices being placed through your letterboxes.

Please take the following precautions:

•Store drinking water: Keep at least three litres of water per person per day for drinking.

•Fill containers for hygiene: Fill buckets or your bathtub with water. Use this water to flush toilets manually by pouring it into the bowl.

•Protect appliances: Turn off your washing machine, dishwasher, and electric water heater. This prevents damage if the system loses pressure or drains dry.

While the Water is Off •Keep taps closed: Leave all taps completely shut. This stops water from spilling or flooding your home when the supply comes back on.

The page on the Goulden House website sharing information about the Section 21 Window Replacement process has been updated today (7-9-2026). As part of the consultation process, there were many queries raised by residents relating to the colour change of the proposed windows and this update relates to that.

Wandsworth Borough Council have recommended that residents are to use the ballot form issued directly to them and to quote their unique reference number when submitting their response. Residents individual letters have been issued by second-class post directly from WBC to all residents.

URGENT NOTICE TO RESIDENTS – DO NOT DISCARD CIGARETTE ENDS/ASH FROM YOUR BALCONIES – THIS IS A CLEAR BREACH OF HEALTH, SAFETY, FIRE & SMOKE REGULATIONS AND COULD COST A PERSON/PERSONS THEIR LIVES.

The Estate Office has AGAIN been advised that cigarette ends/ash, are being dropped from a balcony above onto the balcony of the flat below, this is not the first time this has occurred in this location of the site, the previous time, five fire engines were called to site to extinguish a balcony fire. Discarding cigarette ends/ash from your balconies is prohibited and can cause a fire/injury or worse. Please dispose of your cigarette ends/ash responsibly and consider the impact your irresponsible actions are having on your fellow residents and their properties.
