Wandsworth Council Housing Survey
Hello Residents,
An update from me on a few items. Including the start of a significant change to our engagement with our residents, one I hope that you and your residents will become involved in. We are committed to ensuring there are a wide range of opportunities for engagement and involvement. As such we are planning on updating our Engagement Strategy which governs and directs how we engage with residents across the Housing department.
Improving Housing Together

Complete our survey
We are starting the process to review our Resident Participation and Consultation Strategy<https://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/housing/council-tenants-and-leaseholders/resident-involvement-housing/>. We want to ensure all our tenants can get involved at a level that suits them. This includes council tenants, leaseholders, and other residents of our estates. To get involved with these changes and to share your views, please complete our survey by 25 October 2026. If you have RA Noticeboards, could you please share the attached poster, and let your residents know. Any resident of the estate, or absentee leaseholder may take part. We will be putting posters up across estates, reaching out to groups such as RAs and other community groups and contacting as many residents as possible directly. Next Steps
Following on from the survey focus groups will take place to consider various aspects of the new strategy using the survey results. You can express an interest in joining the focus groups when competing the survey. This is where residents can help design the structures and propose their own changes, or challenge suggestions from the Council. We then hope to share a draft in early 2027, and consult on it including at the Residents' Conference.
Residents' Conference
We are moving the Residents' Conference to Spring 2027 to allow the conference to consider the new strategy and next steps.
What is in the Strategy?
The new strategy will look to cover changes to the formal structure, in particular how residents can access it. As well as options around reviewing the RA recognition process, HCC scheme, funding schemes such as SIBs and the opportunities and challenges of digital engagement. This is why we want as many residents' views as possible to shape these ideas. This includes proposing a dedicated forum for tenants and another for leaseholders. Wandsworth in Bloom
I was delighted to join the other judges, the Mayor and the finalists at the awards ceremony for Wandsworth in Bloom last week. Several residents and gardens from Wandsworth Housing estates won, including the coveted Best in Show.
