C7261 – Goulden House – Residents notification letter – Abseil June 2025

Dear Resident,

I am pleased to advise you that the above contract is scheduled to start on the 9th June 2025.

The work will generally include inspections and investigations of cracked and spalled areas of concrete to the external fabric of the building,

which were previously made safe in August 2023.

CAN Limited UK have been awarded the contract to carry out the works. The contract will run
for approximately 4 working weeks with an anticipated completion date of 27th June 2025.
Working hours will be 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. Access to undertake the works will be
performed by abseil. This will mean that operatives will be passing or suspended in front of your windows
whilst they undertake works. With this said, I would encourage you to close your curtains/blinds/windows
or make provisions to retain your privacy and security.
Your Estate Manager will notify you in advance of when CAN UK are due to abseil your property.

Further confirmation will be posted in the onsite Notice Boards for works programmed for your property.
The contractor will take Health & Safety precautions whilst undertaking works which will involve
coned/taped off areas in communal parts. When work is in progress please take particular care
not to inadvertently interrupt these areas or distract the workmen whilst abseiling the building.
This is for everyone’s safety. Please also warn any children within your property of the potential
dangers whilst works are conducted. The contractor will not require access into your property however intends to undertake surveys
of balconies from the outside. The Council will be providing your contact details to the
contractor.

CAN Ltd UK will set up their site compound and welfare facilities will be in the Community Office within
Goulden House. Should any residents wish to make any comments about the works, enter any complaint, or have any
compliment about the work they can do so by emailing the Project Controller:

email will serve as a permanent record and assists Council Officers to resolve any local problems during
this exercise.
The nature of these works means that there will be some disruption to residents. The contractor will
endeavour to keep this to a minimum. However, I would take this opportunity to apologies in advance for
any inconvenience that this work may cause.
